“新科学家英语演讲与写作课”是面向本、硕、博开放的素质教育通识课。本课程以跨文化学术交流为导向,引导学生结合知识创新和技术创新进行英语学术演讲与写作。注重“演讲”与“写作”能力的协同发展,引导学生学会应用英语口语体将最前沿的科技信息简洁准确地表达出来;同时,学会运用书卷语将自己的学术观点恰当得体地传递出去。注重英语“演讲”与“写作”的语体转换,致力于有效地建构英语学术语篇,减少学术失语,从而在知识创新和技术创新中发出新科学家的最强音。本课程以科学家英语为主线,引导学生学习选择使用庄严语体、正式语体、随意语体、商洽语体或亲密语体参与不同语境下的英语交流。通过体验认知教学,提高学生的英语演讲技能和英语写作技能,实现“在多元文化中体验,在体验中认知建构,在认知建构中成才”的教学目标,增强大学生跨文化交际能力和在全球市场的就业竞争能力。本课程致力于“中国立场,国际表达”,旨在促进本、硕、博的英语语言能力、社会语言能力、语篇能力和跨文化交际能力的协同发展,实施大学生跨文化公民教育。
