本课程主要面向的是护理学专业学生以及临床的护理人员，需要有人体解剖学、组织胚胎学、病理学、生理学、病理生理学、免疫学、微生物学、药理学等医学基础知识；以及基础护理学、健康评估等相关的专业知识。

对于关注自身健康或对呼吸系统疾病感兴趣的社会公众也可以通过本课程的学习，获得常见呼吸系统疾病防治的基本知识。

课程的主要内容包括呼吸系统疾病的总论、常见呼吸系统慢病（慢阻肺、哮喘、支扩）、感染性疾病、肺血管病及其他疾病、肺癌、呼吸衰竭等共计6个单元12章的内容，在6周内完成学习任务：

第一单元：呼吸系统疾病患者的护理总论 & 支气管扩张症患者的护理

第二单元：慢性阻塞性肺疾病患者的护理 & 支气管哮喘患者的护理

第三单元：肺炎患者的护理 & 肺结核 患者的护理

第四单元：肺血栓栓塞症患者的护理 & 睡眠呼吸暂停低通气综合征患者的护理 & 慢性肺源性心脏病患者的护理

第五单元：呼吸衰竭患者的护理 & 机械通气患者的护理

第六单元：肺癌患者的护理

每个单元需要在观看视频及阅读相关资料的基础上，根据教学安排完成单元测试/参与论坛等。12个单元学习结束后，需要完成期末测试。其中单元测试80分、参与讨论20分。总成绩60分及以上为合格，80分及以上为优秀。

本课程不仅仅关注对护生知识和实践能力进行训练，还通过对复杂多样的疾病进行剖析的过程，对护理临床思维的训练也具有积极的意义。
