1. Upon completion of this course, the student shall be able to design and calculate the horizontal, vertical alignments and cross sections of roads according to the control elements of design, vehicle driving performance and environmental constraints.
2. The student shall understand the route selection method of road under various terrains and master the layout method of road centerline.
3. The student shall master the design method of road intersections and facilities along the route.
4. The student shall be familiar with the new principles and be able to apply the advanced technologies in road and survey.
5. The student shall be able to use professional vocabulary to communicate technologies of road survey and design.

Q: Can I just watch videos to learn the course?
A: Negative. This course involves some basic theories, which are suitable for learning by watching videos, but also contains calculations, which need to be consolidated after class.
Q:Why does Chapter 8 include CAD design?
A: This course has a strong practical attribute. By introducing CAD software into the course, students can skillfully use industry tools to solve practical problems, which is not only one of the requirements of this course, but also a major feature of this course.
