课程概述

本课程已被评为湖南省省级一流本科课程(2021-02)和第二批国家一流本科课程(2023-04)


本课程的适用对象是在校本科学生,尤其是准备出国深造或者在多元文化背景公司求职的学生,旨在帮助他们全面系统地了解实用英语写作的思路与方法,以解决学习、生活和工作中的种种书面交流问题。作为教龄长达近30年的资深一线教师,团队成员在长期的教学实践中,深刻了解到学生的现状,懂得他们的实际需求。我们的学生很会做题,然而,一旦需要用英语来沟通工作、提交申请、撰写报告、汇报研究,他们往往会变得不自信,觉得自己学的是“假英语”。经过多年的教学观察与研究,我们明确知道了学生在实用英语写作这一块最急切需要解决的问题是什么,根源是什么,他们希望得到什么样的帮助。基于此,我们和学生一起设计了这门课程的教学内容。


本课程以主题为纲,包括邮件、通知、说明、表格、申请、简历、推荐、个人陈述、笔记、缩写、调查报告和研究计划等内容板块。内容的编排遵循从易到难、循序渐进的原则。教师的讲授采用案例分析、知识讲解、实践操作等多元联动模式。案例取材于真实的情境,有很强的带入感,真实的语料带给学生身临其境的感觉。知识的讲解不局限于写作技巧,涉及到语法、词汇、语义、语用、文体、跨文化交流等方方面面的知识。依托实践环节设计与虚拟仿真项目,督促与帮助学生边学边用,学中做,做中学,学以致用。


最终的目的就是要教会学生真正把英语用起来,去解决实际问题,从而使他们在书面交流中变得自信笃定,从容不迫。
