该课程系统介绍了英文写作的基本类别及写作方法，结合中英文思维差异，从思维的内容及方式入手，探讨如何将零散、普通的记忆及经历逐步转化成生动的故事；如何将看似杂乱的观点层层理顺，抽丝剥茧，最终写成一篇观点清晰、论据充实的文章；如何进行论证说理，运用不同的论证方式完成论证过程，并有效避免逻辑谬误。
课程设置为三个阶段。
第一阶段为 1-5 章，主要为课程介绍及思辨叙事写作，包含课程介绍，记忆及认知偏差，记叙文写作、描述类写作、及语言修辞。
第二阶段为 6-8 章，主要为思辨说明类写作，讲授正式英文写作的基本结构、论点写法、文章内容发展方式。
第三阶段为 9-12 章，主要为思辨议论文写作，包含论点写作、论理方式、逻辑谬误，以及文章修改技巧等。

已修完大学英语一年级课程，或具备一定英语写作能力的人士，可在45分钟内撰写200-250词英语作文。
为积极响应国家低碳环保政策， 2021年秋季学期开始，中国大学MOOC平台将取消纸质版的认证证书，仅提供电子版的认证证书服务，证书申请方式和流程不变。
电子版认证证书支持查询验证，可通过扫描证书上的二维码进行有效性查询，或者访问 https://www.icourse163.org/verify，通过证书编号进行查询。学生可在“个人中心-证书-查看证书”页面自行下载、打印电子版认证证书。
完成课程教学内容学习和考核，成绩达到课程考核标准的学生（每门课程的考核标准不同，详见课程内的评分标准），具备申请认证证书资格，可在证书申请开放期间（以申请页面显示的时间为准），完成在线付费申请。
认证证书申请注意事项：
1. 根据国家相关法律法规要求，认证证书申请时要求进行实名认证，请保证所提交的实名认证信息真实完整有效。

Q : 上这门课需要写很多作业吗？
A : 写作课嘛，一定的写作练习是必须的。整个学期我们会要求大家至少写两篇200-250词的英文文章，具体的作业届时会在课程内发布。
Q : 我写的作文会有老师修改吗？
A : 有的，老师们会选择典型的作文来修改，并将作为案例，一起分享给大家共同探讨学习。
Q : 这门课有考试吗？
A : 如果你想参加那种ABCD四个选项做对了就能拿分的课程，那本课内容估计要让你失望了——我们有两次小型的单元测验，同时作为写作课，主要的还是应该练习写作文呀！所以，除了小考试，我们还有作文，并且还要练习如何修改和优化你的作文。
Q : 上这门课，每周大约需要花多少时间呢？
A : 我们每周课程的视频时长大约30-50分钟不等，部分地方可能你需要倒回去再看看？再想想？外加基础的写作练习和在线讨论，每周大约需要2-3小时的学习时间来保证能跟得上课程内容。当然，我们鼓励你多写！多练！多讨论！表现突出会有加分哟~
