中国文化的传统和精华在传承中创新，我们对它的了解也要与时俱进。《中国文化：另一个新世界》选题独到，视角新颖，用英语在轻松中阐述中国文化的前沿和流行，带领我们走进一个新的世界。
课程立足于中国社会文化中的新现象，兼顾我国当下与过去的文化对比、以及中外文化的对比。话题以对中国文化的认知如衣、食、住、行等为主线，涵盖聚会和饮食、时尚和养生、旅游和生活、社交和网络、情感和节日、金钱和消费、媒体和文学、教育和成功、男人和女人、人和自然等方方面面，尤其是蕴含在其中的新元素。
本课程可作为高校非英语专业本科生大学英语文化背景知识的拓展，英语专业学生、非英语专业研究生学习中国文化的课程，外国留学生了解中国文化的课程。
课程用英语阐述中国前沿文化和流行文化，兼顾中西文化差异对比、从最新视角解读英美国家相关的习俗文化。从而提高学习者运用英语表达中国文化的能力及促进其对英语语言国家社会文化的了解、全面提高学习者综合文化素养，进而实现有效的跨文化交际。
