课程概述
本课程分为八个单元，主题涉及风景园林的定义及从业者的工作和职责、景观与自然、中国园林、园林设计、著名设计师、设计美学要素、城市规划等。以风景园林专业内容为依托，旨在扩大专业英语词汇量和专业阅读量，培养以英语为工具快速、准确输入和输出风景园林专业信息的能力，巩固拓展专业知识，同时激发对专业知识的思辨能力，培养学术研究交流能力，具体目标如下：（1）能看懂英文设计图纸，能够基本读懂常见理论和园林设计大师及其经典作品的英文文献，能就阅读材料进行略读或寻读,能掌握其中心大意，抓住主要事实和有关细节。（2）能撰写符合规范的英文摘要和设计说明等，能在阅读有关专业的书面材料时做笔记、写提纲，写论文摘要和论文简介等。（3）能借助词典对与本专业相关的英语文章的重要信息进行摘译，理解正确，译文达意。（4）能就某一主题进行分析、推理、判断、辨别，并提出自己的想法，进而从中发现学术研究的兴趣点，查找文献、收集数据、分析数据、并用英语以书面论文或口头陈述的形式交流。

本课程授课目标在于扩大风景园林专业词汇量，拓展专业知识，组织有效活动激发思辨能力，能就某一主题进行分析、推理、判断、辨别，并提出自己的想法，进而从中发现学术研究的兴趣点，查找文献、收集数据、分析数据、并用英语以书面论文或口头陈述的形式交流，培养在今后研究工作和学术交流中能用英语有效地进行专业学术信息交流的能力。
