课程概述
本课程的教学对象为完成大学英语基础阶段学习，达到全国大学英语六级考试合格或四级考试优秀成绩，在本科阶段学习及之后有希望从事学术研究的学习者。
课程主体包括视频教学，以及学术阅读和写作练习。视频教学部分的主要内容为通用和学术英语写作知识与技巧的介绍。主要包括一般性写作技巧，通用学术英语写作技巧，学术英语写作规范等。学术阅读部分包括一至两篇与视频教学内容相关的短文或研究论文，帮助学生应用或巩固视频教学内容。学术英语写作练习部分主要结合特定知识、技能、主题进行写作训练。
通过本课程学习，学生应能够用英语学习本专业相关课程，有初步用英语从事科学研究的能力。课程安排每周两课时，每学期12周。课程考核内容主要包括：基于课程视频的作业、基于学术英语写作相关知识、技能和主题的写作练习、期末论文等。
