课程概述

The course Fundamentals of Mechanical Manufacturing Technology is a compulsory basic course for engineering machinery majors in colleges and universities. The course focuses on the in-depth study of basic theoretical knowledge, gives consideration to the introduction of new technology, new process and their development direction, and emphasizes the ability training of using basic theoretical knowledge to solve the practical problems.

The main idea of the course takes the theory of metal cutting as the base, metal cutting machine tools and cutting tools as the breakthrough points ,  the mechanical manufacturing technology as the main clues, and manufacturing qualified parts and equipment as the main objectives, enables learners to have a deep understanding of the basic theory and technology of mechanical equipment manufacturing, and improve their practical ability.

In the course , the texts, charts and videos are integrated organically in the theoretical explanation by using the advantages of information technology. The content of the course include  teaching videos,  discussions, online exercises and final examination. The teaching videos are involved basic theory teaching, typical mechanical structure principle analysis, simulation demonstration, production site videos, and typical advanced manufacturing technology research videos, which make learners truly master the knowledge and skills required by every step of manufacturing and achieve the real organic combination of theory and practice.

Due to the strong practicalness of the course, only through further study and summary in the cycle of theory to practice, can learners reach the realm of mechanical manufacturing freedom kingdom. For this purpose, the practical examples in this course try to adopt the common structure in daily life and the equipment structure commonly used in production, so as to improve the learning effects in mechanical manufacturing. The teaching content is arranged according to the class hours and content suggested by the National Teaching Guidance Committee, and synchronized with the teaching content of relevant majors in colleges and universities, which is conducive to further study of learners.

Through the study of this course, learners will  have a comprehensive understanding of manufacturing activities. Mastering the basic knowledge of machining and the basic rules of metal cutting process; learners  can choose the processing method and machine tools, cutting tools, fixtures and processing parameters; and will get the ability of making process schedule and designing fixture; grasping the basic theory and knowledge of machining precision and surface quality, learners preliminarily have the ability of analyzing and solving on-site process problems. The course lays the basic knowledge and skills of mechanical manufacturing technology, and the necessary foundation for learning other relevant courses and engaging in mechanical design and manufacturing in the future.
